5 Key Points for Organic Traffic Success
There are many things that can affect your websites organic rankings, some more than others. Here are 5 things that can help traffic from search engines...
H1 Heading Tags
Search engines need to know what each individual page is about in order to categorise what content is on that page. Always put a H1 tag as the main title of the page. If the content has different sections, put H2 and H3 tags, to separate them out. Never put two H1 tags on the same page as this will confuse Google unless you are using HTML5.
Long Meta data
If Meta data is too long, Google will cut off the remaining characters so it can fit in the required space. Its best is to have unique descriptions (so it’s not duplicated). Having a “call to action” is always useful, as these appear in search engines for customers to see. Having a good Meta description can increase click-through from search engines to your website.
If you have a website that desperately needs fresh content, provide it! Providing new content is what search engines love! It is always best to have fresh content at the top of the page where the customer will be able to see it, especially if the content is explaining what the product is. When Google comes to view your website and your content is at the bottom of the page, it will have to crawl through images and links first as it is located at the top of the page. Google will think that this is more important than the content on your page, so make sure your content is at the top, located next to your H1 tag. As mentioned before these tags will help Google to understand your page and having the content next to it will help also.
Plus – Always remember that you must have a website that is built for the customer, not for search engines.
“Duplicate content is content which appears in more than one location on the Internet”
Duplicate content on your website will make Google’s job harder as Google will have to find the original content on your website. Make sure you have unique originally content on your website and you will be rewarded by Google.
Speed of your site
This is very important, not just for search engines, but for the customers. Research suggests that if you have a fast page you should convert better, hopefully leading to an increase in sales.
Here are some tips what you can do to your website to make it faster:
More Redirects, More Time
Every time you make a redirect the customer will have to wait for it to redirect back to previous page or the homepage. Keeping these to a minimum will help your site.
This will have a large effect on speed. So make sure that the images on the page/website are not as big and that the quality of the image is not too high as this can slow it down dramatically.
Getting rid of any unwanted/random code will affect the speed like extra commas, spaces and unused code just little things like that.

From this example you can see all the showtimes coming up in the next few days, remember that this is only shown in the search results, so people can see what films are on without going on your website.
