Content - Quality Not Quantity

It is well known that content is a key part of any SEO campaign; distributing content across a variety of online platforms is the best way to improve awareness of your site and in turn gain more customers.

Take Your Time

The trouble with creating content is that it is extremely time consuming and it can be tempting to race through it thoughtlessly, squeezing in as many keywords as possible; but the truth is that spending time writing worthwhile and interesting content is something that ought to be drilled into our brains as a necessary part of our day-to-day work.

Lots of content can be a good thing; after all, the more content there is out there, the more people that are likely to see it. However, you must remember this: quality not quantity. Although you may have content all over the web, if it is not high quality and interesting people are unlikely to share, or indeed read anything you have to say.

This goes for on-site content too; a site may have bags of information, but if it is useless or boring (avoid large sections of text) visitors to the site will not want to read it and will be unlikely to return.

A Great Way to Get More Exposure

People will naturally link to good content, so by having good content on your site you are more likely to get a higher number of natural links to your website. This will not only increase the number of people who are likely to visit your site, but it will also improve the quality of your site in the eyes of Google.

So look at your content, if you have any that is low quality you have two choices: rewrite it or remove it.

Create Something People Will Enjoy

When creating content either for on-site or off-site remember this; write something that people will enjoy reading, something that they will find useful that will encourage them to visit your site and/or return to it again and again. This will lead to more exposure, improved search rankings and ultimately more business.
